Navid Mohammadzadeh speaks at 2020 Hafez Awards

Iranian actor Navid Mohammadzadeh has won the Best Cinema Actor Award at the 2020 Hafez Awards for playing in the movie ‘The Warden’.

The actor appreciated all the people who made it possible for him to play in ‘The Warden’ and win the award.

‘The Warden’, directed by Nima Javidi, has participated at several international and domestic festivals and grabbed a number of awards, including special student jury award at the 2019 International Crime and Punishment Film Festival in Turkey, Best Film award at the 21st Iran Cinema Celebration, and Best Director award at the 13th Iran Critics and Screenwriters gala.

There were many known figures among the winners of Hafez Awards, including Faramarz Qaribian, Shabnam Moqaddami, Mohsen Tanabandeh, Merila Zarei, Mostafa Zamani, Peyman Qasemkhani, Mehran Modiri, etc.

The celebration is organized every year by the Persian cinematic monthly Donya-ye Tasvir (Picture World), which was held under the title of Donya-ye Tasvir Cinematic and TV Films Celebration for several years.

The latest edition of the event was set to be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the organizers changed their plans and held it with limited participation of the cineastes.

The awards were announced during a ceremony with limited guests in the Iranian city of Karaj on Saturday.
